The Lincoln-Way Central Music Department...
is proud to be a part of the award-winning Lincoln-Way High School District #210. Lincoln-Way Central High School provides a comprehensive music program that brings music to the lives of the school's two thousand students. Recognized as being a highly talented organization, the LWC music program offers many courses and extracurricular activities to students. Instrumental music ensembles include Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensemble classes. Along with a variety of choral ensembles, including Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Mixed Choir, courses are also offered in Guitar, Piano, and Electronic Music. Students who participate in Lincoln-Way Central music courses emerge with a strong understanding of performance fundamentals, music theory, and music appreciation. Lincoln-Way Central is also known for its extracurricular music activities, including: Madrigals, Instrumental and Vocal Jazz, Spring Musical, Pep Band, and a cappella choirs. Members of the the Lincoln-Way Central Music Department participate in the district-wide Lincoln-Way Marching Band, Winter Guard, and Winter Drumline,

Mrs. Stacy Williams-Jackson – Music Department Chair/Orchestra Director
Contact: [email protected] Years in District: 27 Teaching Responsibilities: String/Symphony Orchestras, Jazz Bands, Illinois Music Honor Society Biography: A native of Decatur, Illinois, Mrs. Jackson received her Bachelor in Instrumental Music Education/Jazz Emphasis from Millikin University in 1997, and completed a masters degree in Educational Leadership through Northern Illinois University in 2002. She has been a music instructor for Lincoln-Way Community High School District #210 since 1997, where her duties have included orchestra, jazz band, beginning and intermediate strings, electronic music, guitar, and individualized music for special needs students. Mrs. Jackson has been the music department chair at Lincoln-Way Central High School since 2002, where her greatest joy comes from working with her wonderful students and her ever-outstanding colleagues. Mrs. Jackson was the director of Lincoln-Way Youth Strings from 1997-2007, which offered hundreds of Lincoln-Way area students an orchestral experience in grades K-8. Mrs. Jackson has served as jazz representative for the IMEA District I from 2004-2007, and has twice presented jazz bass clinics at the Illinois Music Education Conference. Mrs, Jackson has been a past guest jazz director for ILMEA festivals in Districts 1, 5, 8 and 9. Mrs. Jackson served as District 1 President from 2017-2023, and is currently the State President-Elect of ILMEA. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Jackson performs as a jazz bassist throughout the Midwest. She lives in New Lenox with her husband, fellow Lincoln-Way music educator Nate Jackson, and their two children. |
Mr. W. Michael Bultman – Choir Director
Contact: [email protected] [email protected] Years in District: 29 Teaching Responsibilities: Choral Ensembles, Madrigal groups, Vocal Jazz ensembles, Treblemakers, Singing Knights, Guitar, Piano, AP Music Theory, Spring Musical Biography: A native of Summit, NJ, Mr. Bultman is in his 29th year as Choral Music Director at Lincoln-Way Central. He holds music degrees from Northwestern University and Michigan State University. Under his direction, the LWC Choirs have performed three times at the Illinois Music Educators Association State Conference, once at the American Choral Directors Association-IL Fall Conference, and have toured nationally and internationally. Choirs under his direction have performed with the choirs of Illinois Wesleyan University and Millikin University, and have also performed at Symphony Center in Chicago. Mr. Bultman has presented interest sessions and workshops focusing on Vocal Jazz at the ILMEA State Conference for ten consecutive years, and has guest directed the Vocal Jazz Ensembles of IMEA Districts 3, 7, and 9. Mr. Bultman is also an avid arranger and composer of music and has had his music performed by vocal groups around the country. In 2007, he was named one of ten "Teachers of Distinction" by the Golden Apple Foundation for Excellence in Teaching. In addition to teaching, Mr. Bultman sang professionally in the Chicago Symphony Chorus for ten seasons and performed under many of the world's leading conductors. He continues to sing throughout the Chicago area. He lives in New Lenox with his family. |
Mr. Nate Jackson – Guitar
Contact: [email protected] Years in District: 23 Teaching Responsibilities: Guitar 1, Guitar 2, Guitar Studio, Auditorium Biography: A native of Martinsville, Illinois, Mr. Jackson has been a member of the Lincoln-Way District #210 music faculty since 2001, where he teaches all levels of guitar at Lincoln-Way Central. Mr. Jackson earned degrees in guitar performance from Millikin University and Northern Illinois University, as well as obtaining education certification through NIU. Mr. Jackson's Guitar Studio classes have been featured performers at the Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival, a primarily collegiate festival. The Guitar Studio has also performed at the Illinois Music Education Conference, where Mr. Jackson has twice presented. Mr. Jackson's guitar method book is used throughout the Lincoln-Way district. In addition to teaching, Mr. Jackson is a sought-after professional guitarist who performs in various venues throughout the Chicagoland area. He resides in New Lenox with his family. |
Mr. Chris Mroczek – Band
Contact: [email protected] Years in District: 12 Teaching Responsibilities: Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Classes, Piano Class, Individualized Music, Music Production, Lincoln-Way Marching Band, Pep Band, Spring Musical Orchestra Biography: Chris Mroczek has been a member of the Lincoln-Way District #210 music faculty since 2011. As the Band Director at Lincoln-Way Central, he conducts two concert ensembles, teaches courses in Percussion, Piano, Individualized Music, and Music Production, as well as directs the pep band and spring musical orchestra. Mr. Mroczek also serves as one of the four Band Directors of the Lincoln-Way Marching Band, the school district’s combined competitive marching program. The LWMB recently performed in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California and the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Mr. Mroczek earned both his Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Arts in Instrumental Conducting degrees from Eastern Illinois University. Prior to arriving at Lincoln-Way, he was the Junior High / Assistant High School Band Director in the Schuyler-Industry C.U.S.D. #5 School District. Mroczek was the Assistant Band Director at Lincoln-Way East for three years prior to his current position of Band Director at Lincoln-Way Central. From 2019-2022, Mr. Mroczek served as the ILMEA District 1 Band Representative. Mr. Mroczek currently serves as an Association Representative (AR) for the LWEA. He resides in New Lenox with his family. |
